It's Name-A-Hero Day!

Howdy readerfriends!

First off, way to go, you! Thanks to the combined efforts of my Facebook page and newsletter sign-up, helping to spread the word about my new release, we donated $100 to Beech Brook Farm Equine Rescue last week! Please do a long-arm and pat yourself on the back. Now, let's keep it up! To donate more (up to $500), please do one or more of the following ($1 goes to BBFER for each):

Become a fan of DocJess on Facebook (or get a friend to).

Sign up for my newsletter (or get a friend to).

Tweet a pimp for Winter at Mustang Ridge, tagging @JesseHayworth. Either make up your own, or here's a suggested Tweet:
It's release week for ! Go get a copy of her newest romance, WINTER AT MUSTANG RIDGE. Amazing!

Mention WINTER AT MUSTANG RIDGE by Jesse Hayworth on Facebook, and either tag me (www.facebook.com/docjess) or let me know here that you did it.

And .... GO! The horses, minis, and donkeys thank you!

Meanwhile, we need to talk about naming a hero. Well, naming two of them, actually, as I'm working on a set of interconnected novellas that will tie in to the Mustang Ridge books (and then I'll begin working on a new Jessica Andersen paranormal for next year!! but I digress).

Here are the deets: The Ramsay brothers are tight (except when they're scrapping), loyal to a fault, stubborn, and very much a trio of men's men. The family business, Ramsay & Sons Construction, has mostly been run by their father, but a recent heart attack has left him needing to slow down. So it's up to the guys to work together (ha!), handle the big jobs they've already got on the books (like renovating the Three Ridges Library), and conspire with their mother to keep their dad in check. Which means they don't have time for any distractions ... and the women they meet in Three Ridges definitely count as distractions!

So ... The middle brother is Max. I need names for the older and younger brothers. I would give you more info about them, but they haven't checked in with me yet beyond a "hey" wave and lots of muscles and sexy tool belts. So that's all I've got. I need two names: _____ Ramsay and ______ Ramsay.

Put 'em in the comments trail, and if I use one of your names, I'll credit you in the acknowledgements of his story!

  1. I wanted to say Rex and Gus but remembered that Rex was the dog in #WAMR. So that leaves Gus Ramsey and Wes Ramsey. Wes, Max and Gus sound like three rough and tumble scrapping western brothers to me.

    1. Love it, Rene! And lol on the Rex moment. I did the same thing in my last manuscript, wanting to name a dog Lex. Maybe one of these days I'll write a trio of brothers, Lex, Rex and Tex. Or if it's a paranormal, Vex, Hex, and Se-- Well, you get the picture ;)

  2. How about Scott, Matt, Drew, or Will?

    1. Ooh, I'm liking Scott. I've done a Matt and a Will (so to speak- LOL) in the last few years (for an Intrigue), so will have to see how I feel about reusing. And Drew ... well, there's an ex-boyfriend issue there. LOL!

  3. Hi Jess,

I purchased a copy of the book for a friend who I think will LOVE it. Sneaky.. I'll get her to buy the first book. :)

    Names, eh?

Ned Ramsey and David (not Dave. :) ) and runner up. Would be Andrew.

    Ann

    1. I like your sneakies, Ann! Thank you! Hm, Ned makes me think Game of Thrones, which is cool. David yes, but agree NOT Dave! Ha. Andrew ... well, ex-boyfriend. Whom I have nothing against, mind you, but am not sure if that would feel weird to write ... ;)

  4. I'm thinking the oldest needs to be Jackson (Jackson Ramsay has a nice ring to it and sounds all alpha). Then he can be called Jax and Jack. And it sort of flows with the second, Jax and Max, but then the third should totally not flow, so Scott is great. You can have all sorts of great conflict with just the name choice (the first two were planned and "wanted", he was an "accident". Maybe the two oldest tell him he was adopted, found left by a rock..older sibs are so cruel at times.).

    1. Ha! I love that your names come with a whole backstory, complete with sibling torture. You should totally be a writer ;)
(And congrats on finally getting the comments to talk to your Mac! LOL.)

  5. My nieces are Patty, Paula and then Christina. It's like what happened, did you run out of "P" names or was she an afterthought? And yeah, I know a little something about being a younger sibling. LOL.

  6. How about Aaron for the last brother? Scott, Max and Aaron?
